Our First St Ayles Coastal Rowing Skiff Is Launched.
Sunday 17 February not only drew a large crowd to watch the launch of ‘Leopard’, this also marked the official adoption of coastal rowing at HBYC. Led by a Scottish Piper, members and visitors followed the skiff down to the NSRI slipway, where HBYC Commodore Paul Dalton officially named the skiff and poured a ‘wee dram’ of Glenlivet Founders Reserve over the Leopard figurehead, before she gracefully slid into the water. A proud moment for everyone involved in building the boat, especially for Chris Sutton who did the lion’s share of the craftsmanship.
